D. Pre-service teacher/student* OR Retired** Sunday Conference (option to add social) – $45.00

*Pre-service teachers/students must email from their college/university email to obtain the registration code and include their name, university or college, and expected graduation year.

**Retired teachers please include your name, last district you worked for, years taught, and year of retirement.
E. Presenter - Sunday Conference - Limit 2 per accepted session (co-presenter must be on submitted proposal to receive discount) – $100.00
Presenter discount limited to 2 presenters per accepted session only - both names must have been included on the session proposal to register as a presenter.

Registration for this year's conference in now closed. A limited number of same day walk-up registrations will be permitted with payment required at that time. Availability is not guaranteed and the limited number of spots will be given based on a first come first served basis.

Setting the Standard: Illuminating Our Path Forward

The annual MCSS conference is a professional development opportunity for Minnesota social studies teachers of all grade levels. The conference includes keynote speakers, engaging sessions on disciplines and strategies, exhibitors, and catered continental breakfast and lunch. This year's conference will be held at the Atwood Memorial Center on the St. Cloud State University Campus in St. Cloud, MN on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025.

7:00am - Registration Begins (Atwood 2nd Floor - Top of Stairs)

7:15am - Breakfast Begins (Atwood Ballroom)

7:45am - President's Welcome (Atwood Ballroom)

8:00am - Sessions Begin (Atwood - See session schedule)

Social Studies Social Awards Dinner & Trivia Night

The Social Studies Social is a social evening event. At the Social, MCSS honors outstanding social studies teachers, traditionally at the elementary, middle and high school levels in addition to a Lifetime Achievement Award. Attendees will enjoy a catered dinner, a keynote speaker, and a wonderful opportunity to network with other social studies educators. Anyone is welcome to attend the event. Registration prices are per person. This year's Social Studies Social will be held at the Atwood Memorial Center on the St. Cloud State University Campus in St. Cloud, MN on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025.

4:00 pm - Social Studies Conference Kick-Off: Bowling at the Underground (Atwood basement)

5:30 pm - Social Hour (Atwood Cascade Room)

6:00 pm - Awards, Dinner & Keynote (Atwood Cascade Room)

8:00pm - Trivia Night (Atwood Cascade Room)

Registration deadline for the Awards Dinner closes at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025.

Payment: You may pay online with a major credit card or send a check payable to MCSS to: Crystal Johnson, MCSS Treasurer, 10877 Jersey Circle N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445 before February 07, 2025. After that time, please bring check or cash to the conference.

Cancellations: Full refunds will be issued for notifications of cancellation received on or before Feb. 07, 2025. No refund will be issued in the event of cancellation on or after Feb. 08, 2025.
